Torrot

Spain Vitoria
Funder: Luis Iriondo.
Since 1960

In 1948, Luis Iriondo founded the bicycle and moped factory Iriondo S.A. in Vitoria. Two years later (some sources say 1956), he signed a license agreement with the French company "Terrot" of Dijon, creating the company "Terrot S.A.E."

In 1958, the French company was acquired by Peugeot, which dissolved it two years later, leaving the Spanish company without a manufacturing license. Luis Iriondo then decided to change the name of his company and brand to "Torrot," a brand with which he would capture a significant segment of the bicycle and motorcycle market in Spain.
